Correct when the arm is 90 the blades are pitched about 3 degrees to compensate, yes the fbl takes care of this. I am sure you will do way better now. Let us know.

Re: Gaui X3

After watching a few videos I realized my blade grips needed to be rotated so the leading edge of the tail blades moved in the correct direction. I also got the governor running properly. Next step is maiden 2.

Redo your adjustment to the endpoints so there is no binding. The Ikon will use the correct amount of off set. Just make sure your tail goes the correct direction and the rebound is correct. It sounds like it all is except for the recentering and the endpoint adjustment.
I will shorten the control rod so the tail linkage is at 90 degrees. I thought the slider should be in the middle when the linkage is a 90 so the blades were close to 0 pitch but I guess the FBL unit compensates for the tail blade position.

I haven't replaced the blades since the tail blew out when I was spooling up. I bought 68mm plastic Align blades to try out. My tail servo arm has the ball joint 13mm out. Should I move it in one hole or just leave it?

Re: Gaui X3

I took a look at the instructions and the servo arm needs to be vertical and the tail linkage needs to be at 90 degrees. Attached are pics of my mechanical setup. When the tail linkage is at 90 degrees the slider is not at the center. Is is more important for the slider to be in the middle?

I am not sure why it is flipping the pics sideways.

Re: Gaui X3

Hey Jimmy, I am thinking it may be a mechanical setup issue. I will double check that the tail servo arm is at 90 degrees and the tail slider arm is at 90. Other than that the gyro is compensating in the correct direction and the slider is moving in the correct direction depending on the tail stick movement. After I go through it I will make a video and post it.

Re: Gaui X3

Hello Rick, sounds like your tail servo was not correctly centered. Go threw the tail setup again, set the end points over and make sure the rebound is in the correct direction. Let me know if this helps.

Re: Gaui X3

Way over due but I finally maidened my x3. I set the heli down tail in and while spooling up the tail started moving to the right. I moved the tail blades so they were at lined up at zero pitch and spooled it up again. The tail was steady but it did not seem to be responded my to my stick movements so I thought maybe I reversed the tail servo during setup.

When I got home I rechecked my setup. With the tail in if I move the left transmitter stick to the right the tail pitch slider moves to the left. If I move the tail end of the heli to the right the gyro moves the slider to the left. Is this not correct? Is anyone experiencing any issues using the torque tube?

These are the components I am using:
ZEAL Carbon Fiber Tail Blades 62mm
ZEAL Energy Carbon Fiber Main Blades 360mm
torque tube
HS - 2750, 2850, 2950 using Ikon governor
tail gain 40
6 cell
