Some updates for your information:

A limited number of tables and chairs will be provided, but it would be good if you brought your own tables and chairs, just in case. It is going to be a long and fun day, so you'll want to be as comfortable as possible. We'll need to make most of the tables available for the swap shop at 10 and it will probably last a couple of hours. After the swap shop, we'll free up the tables for pit use.

Also, we had hoped to be able to provide an onsite canteen, but at this time it doesn't appear that this will be possible due to concession contracts at the colliseum. Our event doesn't seem to be large enough to warrant them opening. We're still working on it, but so far it doesn't look like there will be food onsite. The good news is that there are lots of places to eat and get a coffee nearby - there's even a new Tim Horton's just down the street. We can bring our own personal food in if we like (permission was granted, but not for food sales or group food).

Tentative Schedule:

Flying: 8am - 8pm
Demos: Throughout the day
Swap Shop: 10am to ~12 noon
Max in the air (2 rooms - TBD): 2 pm
Vapour Pylon Racing: 3 pm
Raffle Draw: 5pm
Night Flying: 6:30pm (Lights out for 1 hour)

Event Rules:

In the event that weather affects the event, a cancellation will be communicated by means of the GMAC and MAAC websites.
Open flying except during demos or contests
Helicopters in one room, airplanes in the other
Submicro, micro or mini aircraft only (Helicopters 450 or smaller, Planes 12oz or lighter)
Electric or rubber/unpowered free-flight only
No transmitter impound will be provided
Frequency boards will be utilized
Swap starts at 10 AM.
Current 2011 MAAC membership required to fly. Must provide proof at the door.
MAAC safety code applies
Pilots must stand behind flight line. No standing around the edges of the field.
Charging is permitted in the pit area, using a safe charging system
Collisions are to be avoided
No alchocol or drugs. No smoking indoors; smoking outdoors in designated areas only.
Blatant disregard of the rules or dangerous flying may result in grounding and/or ejection without refund.
GMAC reserves the right to refuse entry to any participation or restrict any aircraft or pilot on the basis of safety.
GMAC is not reponsible for damaged, lost or stolen property or injuries

I sure there will be lots of stuff that will be sold. Last years event I was surprised at the amount of stuff that changed hands. I will be selling a YS120 4 stroke as well bunch of other junk. I know of 2 guys that have gotten out of the hobby recently and will selling lots of good stuff.

You will be responsible for securing your stuff. GMAC will not take responsibility for anything lost or stolen.

-2x 25% Sbach 342 electric and a gas
-My 36% Sbach 342

I polled my club for items they intend to sell and received two responses so far:

Sebart 50 size SU-29
Extreme Flight 48" Extra 300
Dozen Props, nose cone and lipo battery
Scorpion H3026-1900 Electric Motor (eg. for Trex 500 on 5S, 14T)

The nice thing about a swap shop is that it is cash and carry or direct trade and it is face to face. No fuss.

Swap shops can be hit or miss, but we think this one will do well considering it is being held primarily as a fun-fly, which will provide a greater value for attendees. The format will be like last year's event, just in a much larger venue.

We are not coordinating vendor involvement, so I cannot say if GH or any other retailer will show up - I would say that is unlikely. The swap shop is a way to take advantage of many pilots coming together to network, swap gear and fly.

We are not promoting this to the public, just the R/C community. The event is being held at the Moncton Colliseum which has no walk in traffic. That said, there may be other events held in the rink area which could draw non-R/C folks. If spectators do show up, there is no fee for them. It would be a good idea to keep watch on your gear and swap shop items. We'll all do our best to look out for each other, but utlimately, it's up to each pilot to watch their gear.

People accessing the agrena (where we'll be) need to walk in through a second floor platform and come down a flight of stairs to access the main floor.

I emailed GMAC members to ask what they expect to be bringing and I'll summarize in a posting here. Other should feel free to post here to summarize what they'll be bringing.

Please note that the shop is scheduled to start at 10 AM to give people who have to drive far the same chances. Please refrain from selling items in the parking lot or on the way to the door - you will get your highest dollar value by bringing it in and letting everyone have a look.
