Two very cautious flights before IRCHA.

That looks like a very intricate design project! Id love to be able to fly a heli at some point.

Re: FK Bell 222 700 & Goblin

Thanks Max. A lot of work still to do: batteries, retracts, lights (maybe) and paint (which I'm not very good at ). Just trying to keep it simple and light for slomo aerobatics. Hope to fly it before summer ends.

I have only praise for Funkey. Quality is superb, cf reinforcements make for a very light shell adaptable to a wide variety of mechanics.

An unpainted 700-800 size AS-350 would be a treat with HPS-3 head ah ah ah!

No gear chatter just belts.
Stock Sab cf tail control rod for crisp response on the vertical axis. KST X20 servos with AR7300BX.

Re: FK Bell 222 700 & Goblin

Hi Don,
There is no tensionner in a 570. The little pulley on the left side frame of the larger Goblin is not a tensionner either but a gauge. Since there is no way to visualise it on the 570, a commonly used method is to suspend the heli by the tail and then tighten the 4 3mm screws securing it to the boom. The heli at this stage is too light, I could only set it temporarily. There is plenty of travel left at the back. The major hurdle was to fit the cyclic servos in the dog house. My first choice was the FK AS-350-600 (that I will be a later build lol) with a HPS-3 head but the tail boom could not accomodate the bulky tail rotor so I switched to the larger 222 and 2 blade head.

Maintenance will be a breeze, both belts can be installed, removed and adjusted with the mechanics in place.

Isn't it wonderful not to hear gear chatter anymore?

cheers, Francois
