Re: H-9 Incident Meter Battery Alternative

Hi Wayne

To be honest ,.............. the tabs are soooo cheap , we would of been messing around with the connections all the time and it would of given intermittent signals . It really works better than before ,......... I.m happy

Re: H-9 Incident Meter Battery Alternative

Hi Michel,

I also changed the original, I found it was difficult to get the dowel seated exactly right to make a solid connection.

In the end I did what you did, except I added a connector. What I did was solder in a 4 in. servo lead through the hole in the battery door with the red wire to the + (positive) and black black to the - (negative). I then soldered the mating connector to the end of the battery leads. This way I can disconnect easily when needed.

I did not add this modification to this thread since I didn't know if it would be wise to have people soldering directly to the PC board.

Great minds think alike - thanks for getting back to me.

Hi Wayne

The only change that I made was that , I soldered a pigtail wire to the Angle Pro , that connects the battery

Thanks again

Hi Spitball,

I think it is different, the number on the battery says "11A 6V" and its much smaller than ones I've found in cameras.

Was it one of those 4 by A76 cells in a stack 6-volt type, Wayne? My Tachs use them.

Re: H-9 Incident Meter Battery Alternative

I did that a couple of times, now I removed the battery when it is not in use.
Good idea on the external battery though.

Re: H-9 Incident Meter Battery Alternative

Thats a good idea, I bought a 5 pack of them on ebay pretty cheap, but had to wait a week to come from Hong Kong.

Good thing I got 5, as I forget to turn it off quite often.
