Hilarious pics Will, looks like "busty", either a Robbe or Graupner pilot, she was a popular choice when I was flying in Germany. Had her in my Super Skybolt! Figuratively, that is! lol

Re: Sig 1/4 Scale Cub

Quick update, we did engine ground runs on the Saito 130 on Sunday Afternoon, and then Monday, we managed two flights, first one till she ran dry, and made a lovely deadstick, without any issues, second flight was good as well, even though we were flying in 20 gusting 40 Km/H winds. The checkerboard on the undersides looks amazing in the air, I'll have to remember to bring a camera for the next flight! Leeann still has some interior detailing to do, and she's found a female pilot, so further work required, but she's already started her next project, a Goldberg Super Chipmunk!

Re: Sig 1/4 Scale Cub

What amazes me is her covering skills. She built a Spectra electric glider, as her first kit, then an Eagle 2. This is only her 3rd kit that she's covered, and it looks amazing. She hasn't decided on which she's doing next, either a Top Flite Corsair, or a Goldberg Super Chipmunk!

Re: Sig 1/4 Scale Cub

Gee, could I borrow her? I have several kits in the hangar awaiting attention, and while friend wife is supportive, she's no help in the building area!

Re: Sig 1/4 Scale Cub

Work is progressing on Leeann's cub, she's still doing all the cockpit detailing, we've got a bit left to do for the engine installation, firewall, and tackle the remaining bit of work on the struts, but hopefully after Nov 11th, we'll be doing engine runups and test flying.

Re: Sig 1/4 Scale Cub

Sweet, we google'd Cub Cockpit photos, there's so many conversions, different mods people have done over time. I totally forgot though, that it should have a first aid kit, ELT, etc, sad, considering I'm a full scale pilot too! lol Thanks for the pics, I'll print them off, she's got a board to pin photos on for ref! We just recently had a club appearance at our base's Fall Fest, once again I was shocked by the behaviour of some of the parents there. If boys came over to our tables, then the parents were all for it, and really enthusiastic. For the second Club event in a row, a couple of girls were just fascinated with the planes, and wanted to ask a pile of questions, you can see the level of interest in their expressions, and both times, the parents simply grabbed the girls and dragged them over to more "girly" events. You'd think, after all this time, and all the history, Emilia Arheart, Lily Litavnik (WW2 Russian fighter pilot), the hundreds of Women who were ferry pilots during the war, women like Hazel Sig, the aerobatic pilots, the list goes on, that parents would get with the 21st century, and support their girls in whatever they showed interest in!
