Re: cutting carbon fibre rods How about a pair of these? They are aircraft cable cutters. They make a perfect cut of aircraft cable from the very small to 5/32" and piano wire to 3/32". I have many years of use on them and they still cut perfectly. I got them from Aircraft Spruce. |

Re: cutting carbon fibre rods How thick is the carbon rod? For the small stuff, 1-3mm, I normally just roll the rod under a #11 XActo blade. Works for me. Peter |

Re: cutting carbon fibre rods I have limited experience with this but when cutting a carbon rod I normally put some masking tape around where I am cutting and get very little if any splintering. Make sure that you wear a mask and other precautions to avoid any harmful ingestion of the carbon dust. |

cutting carbon fibre rods Hi Another not so intelligent question by me What is the best way to cut small carbon fibre rods? I have tried a cutoff wheel in a dermal but it always seems to break and splinter a bit at the end maybe if I had a third hand it might be easier. any hints would be greatly appreciated C |
