Awesome! Thanks for this! Important things I will remember to check if mine or others' engines are having performance issues.

Cheers

Basically the same on mine and I'd been seeing more and more black oily exhaust coming from what turned out to be the plugged side.

Mostly performance especially in vertical where it would just not be pulling. Brendan's was the same. He thought it was a dirty carb and did a rebuild on both with no change. Then I had the brilliant idea to feel for exhaust from the outlets at idle and there was none on one side😳

Repeated until cleaned putting oxy in both ends as you go. Took me about four sessions. I didn't let sit in oxy overnight though as I worried about etching the aluminum. We threw in our headers too and they came out pretty clean too. Just make sure to use a heat gun and dry everything thoroughly so you don't get rust.
Thanks Lee!

I would love to get new cans but these came out really clean and it wasn't that big a deal. After 400 or so flights most cans will carbon up. I have gone to 60:1 with my redline which seems to be the norm these days which will help.

Re: Carden PRO Built by Lee

Can't believe it's been almost a year and a half since I changed the Pro to the 200 and after noticing that I ( and Brendan) were losing power, we checked the canisters and they were plugged. Interestingly mostly on the same side for both our planes!
Anyway we cleaned them out using Oxyclean and they are cleaned out and ready to roar once again.
I was wondering if anyone knew where to buy new KS 95 canisters in Canada? I'd like to get a spare.
