Re: FEJ Hawk100 Build

Us out west have put gyros on the rudder of our toots because they are so tall and will wiggle a bit in a crosswind , we don't use them in the nose wheel though , the hawk has a tall, rudder too so it probably wouldn't hurt there.

Re: FEJ Hawk100 Build

Does this plane need a gyro on the nose wheel?

Hey RC-Man if you want to bring your's to my place I can add some C/F in the tail around the servo tray and down the side's. Bring it down and we'll clean it , glass it and you can take it home same day. I have some 4 oz C/F cloth and west system epoxy if that will work for you. Maddog

Re: FEJ Hawk100 Build

I had to clarify with FEJ about the elevator issue on the hawk 100 because you never know who you can believe! So I have verified that there are some issues with it and they have a fix that they can send you they are two carbon fibre plates so if you have one call them and get them.

Angus

Ill call you later and brief you on it.

I have been asked to not post the video until They settle up with a replacement. I will post the video as soon as I have permission from the individual to do so.

Really sucks!!

Do your do diligence and do some carbon fibre re-inforcing of the Elevator Servo mounting area aswell a place some sort of "DOWLING DEVICE" through the area where the unit inserts in the stabs. I have now seen 3 of these areas fail on this plane, and unfortunatly that number has increased to 4 as of late.

All planes were a total loss.

Other than that great flying plane.
who lost another one? assuming the horizontal stab folded up again?

bummer

Re: FEJ Hawk100 Build

I just finished mine as well the linkages are ok it`s just the carbon horns are not at the right angle so I put different horns in to give me the proper throw and angle so that the flap is not easy to push and pull up and down on. I put horns on it that are in line with the hinge line and it worked out great I will post a picture later tonight or tomorrow. I just need to know what the C of G ended up being and the throws on all the surfaces could someone give me those. I have the flap angle it`s supposed to be 30 degrees but it doesn`t seem enough.

Re: FEJ Hawk100 Build

I'm building this plane now but something on the flaps does not seem right. Can someone post a few close up pictures of the flap linkage and servo throw set up please.

Thanks

Nice Hawk Peter ,

That scale would sure look good in the Canadian blue 155 scheme , It's a great flying airplane .

Cheers Nate
