Wow Bob, I had no idea it held that much history with anybody. Thats an amazing story. I'll tell ya, my knees were knockin and I may have been white as a ghost but other than the previously mentioned aileron trim it flew like a dream and I was amazed at the landing characteristics.
Thank you Wayne for all the help (again). It was one of those highlights in life thats been a long time coming.

Yup, that is your old Panther, Bob...though it still looks brand new! It flew great other than needing some aileron trim...

Re: Welcome a New Jet pilot to the mix

I was the original and first owner of this F9. I built it. I know by the numbers on it. The big 725 on the nose was my anniversary (July 25th), and the numbers on the tail -826731 - are my birthday (Aug 26) and my deceased wife's birthday (July 31). Also the VF 211 number on the side of the fusealge was the F14 fighter squadron my son was in on the USS Nimitz. Not possible to have another F9 with those markings as they did not come with the kit.

After I had a hard landing I sold it to Bill Weins who repaired it, and I don't know who owned it, if anybody, before Dale.

Congrats Dale, and I hope you have many good flights. It was nice for me to see that it flew again.

And another new jet pilot today as Dale Ivey maidened his Panther at Tofield before the rain hit!

I have never seen such an adrenalin rush when that Panther rolled to a stop after a very smooth landing. He is hooked, and hooked good!

Congrats Dale!!
