Re: Blade 450 3d bind question

Well, I have the binding issue sorted out. It was a combination between updating the firmware on the Spartan ds760 gyro and the sequence I was turning the equipment on. Thanks 'joliecoeur13' for the USB cable and 'RCcanuck' for the reminder about Finless Bobs post.
Bind steps:
1. turn on transmitter (always did first)
2. turn on heli
3. open the 'spektrum sti' app
4. plug in the sti dongle (didnt always do this part in this order).
works everytime now. The sti needs to be plugged in last or it sometimes screws up the bind.

Thanks for the help guys

Re: Blade 450 3d bind question

I have a 450x and have mounted a camera in the same spot. It looked like you have a vibration that could be causing some issues. I would recommend getting a blade balancer to see if you can minimize that. It might have caused a connection issue during flight...

I like castle creations. Easy to use with great support and product backing! The Castle Link shows all the data your telemetry does so you can pull it all off. I see CC only offers a 50amp for thier smallest. That's a little much for a 450 but will work. Another option is the Align 35amp. They work well.

Here is what I would run if I ever need another ESC for my 450:

I'm just not sure what I should upgrade the esc to. Do you have any recommendations? I am ordering a new receiver as well but I think you are right when it comes to the ESC.

Re: Blade 450 3d bind question

It may or may not be the problem but Eflight electronics are entry level only and don't handle extra current or abuse. I'd replace it just for reassurance.

craneman32: I will get myself together and post some pics of the wiring. I dont know how I missed your post. We might have been posting a message at the same time. I am heading into town for a little bit but I will answer all of the those questions as soon as I get back.

Again, thanks for the help fellas.

Re: Blade 450 3d bind question

craneman32: I am till sflying the original 35-Amp Brushless ESC (EFLA335H).

RCcanuck: To be honest with you I am only learning the telemetry as well. I only use it to review the flying voltage of my batteries. I noticed tonight that there were fades and frame losses. I still have to figure out what that means. I've looked back at my other graphs over the past month and I very rarely have any fades...until last night that is.

After watching finless bobs spartan gyro video again (thanks RCcanuck) I made another post last night asking for a flashlink cable for the spartan gyro. Chris P replied and said he has one!! Thank you Chris P and thank you RC Canada!

This site is amazing, everyone is very helpful and I am learning a lot.

Re: Blade 450 3d bind question

I know nothing about telemetry....dont even know what fading and loss of frames mean. Give me a quick laymens lesson.
Weird about the binding. I know what it is...but i have to find that video. It explains it well and he tells you how to fix it. It was an issue with the spartan gyro. The gyro would boot up to fast....but the rx hadnt gone thru its initialization. So when the gyro was looking for the rx....it wasnt there. He went into the tx and did something...cant remember what it was.....but it made the rx available first to the gyro then the rx would initialize. Problem solved. This issue didnt happen all the time...it all depended how fast the gyro booted up. If it did happen....the initialization would hang. The gyro would work but the servos wouldnt.
