Re: Main and tail blade quality?

I'll check out the RJX brand Darren, I want to make this heli right so that is the route I must take.

Personally, my experience has been that you "get what you pay for" in most things in this hobby. Blades included. Most of the name brand blades work well. There are 2 main problems that I have found with cheaper blades. 1) they aren't always very well balanced. 2) they don't always track very evenly.

I've traditionally used "Edge" blades, but they are no longer being made. I'm kind of flipping back and forth between switching to the new "Switch" blades or going to Rotor Tech blades.

Switch blades are new and don't have a lot of history but they're designed by Bert Kammerer who is very well known in the industry and they're made in the same factory as Edge blades used to be made. They aren't cheap either. They're also designed for 3D flying.

Rotor Tech has been around for many years and have a long history of being very good quality blades. And some of them appear to be designed for basic forward flight or scale flying. Not too sure about the price though.

I've use Align blades a few times. There's really nothing wrong with them. They're not really cheap but relatively mid priced compared to a lot of other blades.

I've heard of a bunch of good things about RJX blades. I've never used them myself but I've heard that some people have had very good success with them. They're among the lower priced name brand blades.

There are many other blades that are out there, but those are the ones that I have any info about.

I'm looking at cost and commitment here so I think I'm going back to 450 or even 500 size, less money for parts because I pile these things up too often.

Main and tail blade quality?

Does quality make a big difference and what about weight? Should the blades be light and who makes reasonable quality blades without being extreme in price? I plan on getting good servos and making this a good heli so I think blades may be an important factor. Once I get the fuse on I want a helicopter that will only fail due to pilot error.
