I also had the additional privilege of staying with Ivan and Diane! You guys are very lucky to have these lovely folks out in Ontario! I had the chance to tour Ivan's shop and also to ask him many questions about his approach to trimming, radio selection and setup, practice methods etc... (ps anyone want to buy a JR 12X? )

Finally, it was great to meet all of you guys (and gal) in person. We have certainly crossed paths on the interweb but it was great to put a face to the names!

I can see the headlines now......"patrons on the Maid of The Mist were very sure they saw a figure come over the edge and plummet to the rocks below...officials said that with no body, either they were mistaken, or the body was weighted with something like gas engines in the pockets, or a flight box tied to the neck...."

I also would like to join the list to thank Ivan and Diane for their efforts in organizing a fun event! The facility, food/drink and social hour was just great.

It was nice to see the enthusiasm early in the year. I know Ivan's flight got everyone anxious to get their own planes in the air!!

Kudos to everyone that made so much effort to come very long distances in some cases, to better their skills in judging and interpretation of the rules.

It's a solid fact that if you understand the rules in good detail, your own flying will definitely improve.

For myself, recently becoming a judging instructor has opened my eyes to the quality of our rulebook and the vast resources that IMAC has to offer. Having the opportunity to work with Rick K on this has been great. I don't know anyone (besides the top brass in the US) that knows the rules and presentations better than him, so I think we're all lucky to be involved in that class.

The discussion on the World Championships was also very good, and now we will be able to get a handle on team selection very soon. We owe a big thanks to Isabel for coming all that way to make the presentation (and enduring a long list of hardship in transit!!)

To all, thanks for participating, as a good turnout makes it worth the effort for all involved.

I'd like to echo all those offering congratulations to the organizers and presenters for a job well done. I particularly enjoyed the demo flight and the subsequent analysis of the good and bad points of each maneuvre. I learned a great deal from that and the in class presentations.

Regards,

RB

Absolutely great day, thanks to Ivan for organizing the seminar. Wonderful presentations from Don and Rick of the changes in the rules for IMAC judges. It was interesting to sit in and observe the consideration of the selection process for the up coming worlds compatition next year, have fun ironing it all out Isabel! I'm sure the right pilots from across Canada will be selected to represent us North of the boarder.
