Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

Thanks for the tip on Ritch's. Didn't know they were in Houston. I sent them an email for prices.

Check Riches Brew to see if they will ship.

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

With Powermaster, they told me they only deal directly with retailers not individuals. However, the retailers don't carry it locally and won't special order it. So that leaves mail order which then incurs a hefty hazmat fee. They will sell me their methanol, nitro, etc to make it myself but have to buy in bulk.

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

Why would that be? Personally I ordered from Riches Brew, another Lone Star State supplier, (near Houston) and picked it up every spring at the Toledo Show.

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood

I only do glow, nothing else. I am getting concerned about the availability of glow fuel though. Powermaster Fuel is headquartered an manufactured 12 miles from where I live and I still can't get it from them.

Can order Klotz Benol on Amazon but the price seems a bit insane.

Yes, the very large motors use a lot of fuel. If you mix your own 0% nitro fuel, then the price is not all that bad. $15 a gallon for methyl hydrate ate Canadian Tire and some Klotz or even cheaper castor oil is fairly reasonable even for the larger motors. I fly mostly .15 and .46 size planes and rarely use more than a gallon a year. I find the gasoline in the minivan to go flying is more than what the planes use. For larger motors I am sure there are better deals on methyl hydrate/methanol than at Crappy Tire if you hunt around or get a 5 gallon pail. Also when comparing large electrics to glow you will need at least two battery packs, maybe 4s or 6S which carries a price tag as well. Gasoline has extra ignition snafus to complicate the supposed economy of gasoline.
