Re: Trying to ID Oldtimer Airframe

She has been ID.
This looks to be a scale up 160% "The Answer".
Had someone clue me in over on RC Groups as they have built one and recognized the airframe.
I checked the plans for 44" ws The Answer and the construction looks almost exactly the same. A few differences probably for scaling up but it is almost a direct copy.
Wonder who produced the kit?

Hey Bill, how are you?
I peek in here every so often but not much RC flying this year.
Can't miss London, Didn't see you there!

Re: Trying to ID Oldtimer Airframe

Unfortunately it isn't the same plane.
I have a new in box Quaker Flash by Spirit of Yesteryear sitting here so that one is easy to compare with.

Looks like a Quaker Flash.
Here is a link to the original Megow plans if that is it.

Trying to ID Oldtimer Airframe -- Solved!

Picked this airframe up at the London swap meet as I couldn't resist the elliptical wings. Thought I had a Super Scorpion on my hands but this one is a little bigger with a 70" ws over the 66". Construction is similar but has differences in the wing. Note the rubberband dowels in the front are in a different placement. Undercambered wing and horizontal stab. Fuse is rounded on top behind the wing but it has a flat fuselage underneath. Fuse sides are flat but have taper to the bottom half. No wood cross bracing like the Scorpion in the wing and the cabin windows are different. It was definitely a kit as I can see some of the wood pieces have stamped assembly numbers on them. Older kit for sure. Not laser cut and you can tell the wood is old.
Wonder if anyone might have an idea what this one is?

Attached some pics to give a better idea on what it looks like.

Thanks
Chris
