Hey, Sharpy, as the Vulcan was flying successfully well before the ink was dry on the Arrow design napkin, are you suggesting that the Vulcan influenced the Arrow design? If so they left off the good parts! Tex..

the replica is heading to a new home in a storage facility near pearson airport. But first, it will be front and centre at the sme canadian manufacturing technology show, which runs at the international centre from sept. 30 to oct. 4. All members of the public will have the opportunity to see the arrow ahead of the show during “doors open mississauga” at the international centre on saturday, sept. 28.

as for the aviation museum, swartz said the board is still actively trying to find it a new home near pearson.

Yep. After seeing some ejections at airshows at almost ground level with an engine full of birds, they have it as good as it gets.

True!

Its a sad read when going over how many pilots had a chance - as in, survived the initial cause for the requirement to eject - and it was the ejection that did it... or the inadvertant ejections from something else...

Truly was risky business back then. Not saying it isn't now, still risky, but with our flight safety program, and overall approach to flight, a lot of the risk has been removed. The 1950's and 60's though, wow...

also interesting, many were re-fitted with Martin-Baker zero-zero ejection seats as the Lockheed seat had a minimum speed requirement and still killed some pilots

so it wasn't the plane at fault, it was the seats

Great links! Thank you! More for a selfish reason, the colour video and detail shots (especially strapping into the cockpit during the scramble), showed A LOT of detail I had questions about with regards to the Clunks.

Cheers!
Mark.
