Re: Telemetry Connector Question

I got the 10K Thermistors today and hooked up five of them and they all indicated 21C. The price is right for sure.

These work with the Spek telemetry modules.

Re: Telemetry Connector Question

I got the 8-pin connectors today and they fit as well. I am using these to wire up a connector to hook up to the Lipo balance connector and then into the Graupner GEM. This will give the individual cell voltages of a 6s pack on the MC20 telemetry screen.

Re: Telemetry Connector Question

I got some connectors yesterday and they fit properly I needed four pin and I have some 8 pin on the way.

They are Micro JST 1.5. I mic'd the pins and they are 1.5mm and fit perfectly.

Re: Telemetry Connector Question

Right on, I was leaning toward the 1% ones if I were to try and make some but you are probably right about the 5% ones.

Re: Telemetry Connector Question

David

I hooked up one of the 10K 1% thermistors that I got from Sayal and it indicated 21C on the Graupner Screen Temp 1 & 2. The General Engine Module has two temp inputs and they both read the same value. I checked it with the thermometer in my shop and it indicated 21C also.

I would have to do the ice water/boiling water trick to calibrate but I would bet it is okay.

The cheap ones on eBay are rated at 5% but for that price you could probably throw out the ones that are out of wack and still be ahead. LOL

David

I bought the original ones from Digikey and they worked fine. They also have them at Sayal
in Toronto. Just make sure they are 10K.

Re: Telemetry Connector Question

These are the types I used to make up some temp sensors for Spek stuff. 10Kohm is what worked with Spek. Cheap at 10 cents ea.! Wiring was easy to figure out, but I need the connectors.

I will try them with my MC20 tomorrow.

That is what is inside the orange heat shrink @$9.99.

Re: Telemetry Connector Question

As long as the material types used are the same as original do thermocouples produce defined voltages?

It just occurred to me that I have a bunch of probes from the heat treatment oven that were going in the trash at work. Pretty sure they are Chromel/Alumel.

Or is the Spek sensor thermistor or something?

What does your Graup use Richard?
