That is awesome.
Similar to how George did his on FG. But he tack glued his balsa to his guide piece.

Sweet, so before next fall I need to buy my own scroll saw and a small table saw. Come on Canadian Tire sales

By making a jig (stiffener) the exact same width as the material to be beveled we can get a straight reference for the cuts. Cut one side, flip over and make second cut with a resulting straight line down the very center of the material. I hope the attached pictures expain it. The jig also adds an element of safety while doing the cuts. The carpet tape keeps the material aligned. Just be carefull not to get to much on or too close to the edges. Since balsa cuts very easily, it doesnt take much tape to attach it. Take your time prying it off the jig and you will have it perfect. I hope this helps explain how we did it.
Neil!!!

Thanks just simply awesome!!! I've tried doing this myself and could never get it to come out like that!!!

You learn something new every day!!!

Any chance you can post some more details and pictures about the guide you guys used to cut those on the tablesaw??

I tried doing that once and got frustrated and reverted back to shaping those by hand!

Cheers

Finally my 3W170 SWB engine mount arrived Now I can get a real good look at the beauty and the beast Hey Trev, just for the record the 3W157/170 mount is not even close to the Da 150 as far as dimensions go, so new holes in the firewall are required. No big deal, an easy fix. I spent holiday monday at my model building buddys awesome wood working shop and we cut maximum bevels on all the hinge line balsa. This guy is accurate, he made a cut jig for each bevel and they turned out perfect. Big thanks to Neil! I think someone else is getting interested in a Carden project later Mur
