Re: Slope Soaring in N.S.

I will be trying out the Alula on the flat when I next go out to the field. Probably sometime this weekend.

Hi Charles;
We would love to have you flying with us at Lawrencetown.
One of our members has an Alula and he is very pleased with it both on the slope and on flat land.

Re: Slope Soaring in N.S.

Still waiting for my Alula, snail mail takes forever!
Had my Slinger out for it's maiden today, just on the flat, no slope. Flew well and stable once I got it trimmed. Glides well with the power off, goes where you put it. With a bit of practice I think I'll be able to catch it. Will take it to a slope when the weather firms up.

Re: Slope Soaring in N.S.

Snowing again, won't be doing any flying today. Hopefully by the time my Alula arrives the weather will be good.
Optimistically,
Charles.

Re: Slope Soaring in N.S.

Thanks again guys for all the information. I had an idea of the location, now I've seen the map, I figure it's about an hour and a half drive from home. Probably once or twice a month visit. Roll on Spring.

Re: Slope Soaring in N.S.

Alula is a fun plane, especially for the price. A Weasel would be a better slope plane, especially if you can slope often.It handles more wind. The Devil will work really well, I tried a Slinger and it flew OK in medium lift and up.Any of the wings are good because they are durable, also the Bee series http://www.atlantahobby.com/Store/pc...planes-c54.htm
