Re: Anyone Have a Pulsar Glider

Well guys for all of you that wanted a Pulsar and don't want to deal with the hassle of shipping to Canada, Lorne is now importing and taking preorders for the Pulsar line at http://pro-rc.ca/
He is a nice guy to deal with and obviously he was so impressed with the model he has, he decided to import them. Hopefully, more availability of high performance models will spark more interest in gliders in general in Canada. I have the Euphoria moldie I am building right now, but I always wanted a super floater like the Pulsar so I am getting one also. Just feeding the addiction.
I guess it is time to let go of some of my other gliders

Yes they do quite nice ones, here is the link

He was making custom ones

I think Hyperflight and Skip Miller models sell them for him.

Re: Anyone Have a Pulsar Glider

Well I think the answer is in multiple parts, Pulsar is quite expensive, especially when it has to be imported and shipped to Canada. It is kind of a one shot pony, it is incredibly good at the low wind, low lift task, but there are better planes for wind or all around weather conditions. If you need all round good performer, at high price range, most people wood look at Supra or Explorer, Maxa, or Euphoria that would give them most bang for the buck since you cannot pre order weather conditions for competition. The new Maxa ultralight moldies are approaching the wing loading of these floaters and at high price, provide much more flexibility then these floaters can offer.
A sports flyer, on the other hand, can buy a few of the old stile floaters for the price of one of these, even if they just do not have that kind of performance of this expensive toy.

The one I saw in florida was flown by an inexperienced pilot but he always crushed everyone else in time flown so it got me interested. When he was down to 100 feet he would still fly everywhere. I thought he was going to wipe this thing out but never did.

Re: Anyone Have a Pulsar Glider

If you like building there are a few kits out there as well. Most of them are wood so no or limited carbon. They may not be as high tech as the moldies but still fly well and are very satisfying to complete and fly.

Chris

PS I picked up the glider affliction earlier this year as well. Lots of fun and I have met some very nice and helpful people.

I was about to get one myself recently, but a new hot water tank superseded that purchase.

That's great. It was a great radio. Great feel

I must admit that I use my jeti with telemetry so I can tell my battery voltages including lowest cell voltage, altitude, and rising and falling tone You could say I cheat
