the CoG is too high, and it would need to be all aluminum and 1/8 motor to be anywhere near as fast in a line. i dont race, but you shouldn't be worried about what other people are racing unless there is a clear advantage. I dont really see one other than price factors i dont think it should be put up with 1/8 buggys though. |

Joe Dirt | I don think the Slash could ever run like a buggy. I have one and its grate for basjhin but I cant see one as a racer.

I agree that if it's not purpose built for that style of racing, weather it be sc, buggy, truggy, etc., it shouldn't be allowed. If enough people want to start an "Outlaw" class so be it. But then what rules do you set for that not to become a "run-what-you-brung" race? |

Guest | Open OUTLAW Traxxas Class. Sounds good to me! You want new racers, there it is

No, sorry. In trying to protect the integrity of the electric 1/8 class, I have no interest in allowing 'hybrid' cars in the GLORCS series. In respect to louring new racers to the series, I realize the advantages of allowing them (and others), BUT it wouldn't be long until the class became a 'run what ya' brung' class, and I want to avoid that at all costs. Sorry for any inconvenience. |

tim.sanderson | The slash in that video is the 2wd version. I made one of those last year, and ran it a few times at FastCats. It was pretty fun.

007 | I don't know for sure but there may be a width issue. It looks fun as heck though. I second Gump's comment as well.

bobf24 | the VE8 doesn't have a flat pan chasis either does it?

Gump | doesn't have a flat pan chassis, doesn't qualify to the best of my knowledge.

I ran my Slash 4x4 as a buggy before actually buying a 1/8th scale buggy.. Its too light in its natural form... Getting any speed to compete your lifting the front end off the ground and very unstable in the air. Adding weight to make it stable and you have to gear it down soo much to stop the motor and esc from over heating its not longer compeditive. They tend to brake pretty easy, got nudged by a 1/8th scale buggy off a jump and broke my rear arm and bearing carrier.. the parts are under soo much load from the tires that it does not take much to brake them. |
