With the model as it is way up there. Telemetry won't help much at all as the Mossie does not have a very big rudder. Have to totally agree with Mike S . In a model when an engine stops , it usually stops right now ! |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds DX9 with telemetry and RPM sensors can help at you when the RPM difference gets to great! Another way to help with motor on an engine out. Just have to convince Spektrum to allow multiple of the same sensor on one telemetry unit..... |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds I'll have to look at that as well, if the Mossie is alone in the air, should note the loss of one engine, but with turbines, etc, not a chance till it's too late. Frustrating thing is that the real aircraft flew very well on one engine. Argh. |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds Will be flying mine again soon but not before I install a D & L engine synchronizer. If one engine flames out then the synchronizer will bring the other one back to idle. This airplane will not fly on one engine and the synchronizer hopefully will keep it out of a death spiral. |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds Mossie is completely sheeted, finally! It's going to it's owner tomorrow, who will do all the finish work, sand, fill, and prime. Then it will return to get all the radio gear installed, a pair of new RCGF 35cc engines. We'll have to finish the nose cone, tail cone, cut out the bomb bay doors, and landing gear doors. We've got a line on some expertise to build the retracts for it as well. Who knows, might still manage test flying this summer! |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds Making progress, bottom wing sheeting done between fuse and right engine nacelle. Some sheeting on the go for the nacelle itself. Once everything is done, and glassed, the gear doors and bomb bay doors will be cut out, reinforced, and hinged. |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds Once I got all the parts cut, I then assembled the forward section of the nacelle formers onto the engine box. The assembly then slides in, locking to the forward spar stringers. The aft ends are attached, and the rest of the formers, bottom and side stringers as well. I then epoxied two rails of 1/8th Baltic birch ply to the engine box sides, and corresponding wing ribs. This will help ensure that the nacelles are strong enough, and loads are spread out over the widest possible area. |

Re: Don Smith 1/6th Mosquito builds Finally, back onto the Mossie Project. Working on the Starboard engine nacelle. Got all the parts rough cut this AM, now installing the nacelle onto the wing. Pics later today! |
