Have had the Graupner MC-20 and MX-20 for a while now. Absolutely no issue with signal. Telemetry logs show it seldom goes below 95% Control Signal (Tx to Rx) even when at far end of field and Telemetry Signal (Rx to Tx) is down to 25% or less. Packet losses are always under 100 and it would need to go to 2000 before there is a danger of a Hold.

BTW, Brownout is a symptom of weak Rx battery power and is user error or malfunctioning component (ie: bad servo). The HoTT Rx will operate all the way down to 2.5 volts, much lower than servos will stop operating at.

Agree ... If you can get your head into programming the Taranis is well worth a look.

OpenTX and the new scripting options are potentially the future for the hobby according to many. CompanionTX makes it all easy.

Still, it is different to be telling your TX and RX what you expect them to do rather than having others say that they know better.

It is worth it to check out Scott Page's new videos "OpenTX and Beyond" now at Episode 3.

Well some of the updates were good like the radio beeps at you when you select a wrong model because it's like futabah where there's no model match stuff like that. There is a lot of good features on the radio.

I bought mine in June from pro-rc . Once I setup a few planes it's become second nature to set one up. I have all 12 channels because their so cheap lol. One in an 89" 60cc slick one in a 104" slick 100cc and now a 35 cc aeroplus mxs-r. No issues what so ever. I even find the latency between radio and rx faster then my previous radios. And yes for the price you pay you get a 12c rx 6c rx radio case neck strap good bang for your buck. Some people find having to update the rx and tx stupid but I say that's great it means they listen to us consumers. A lot of the mz-24's come with version 1.08 something we're up to 1.21 now. All the software for the updates is free from openhobby.com. And when an update comes out you just download it off openhobby. You do not need to send anything in for updates. Took me a few try's to figure out the software but once I did it a couple times only takes 2 mins now.
I don't know why anyone would worry about updates. Seems like most of the new radios do it that way now. Even the 14sg requires updates vis the SD card from time to time.

Yup I'm with Brodie....MZ-24 is the best deal out there. I'v been a JR/Spektrum guy since day one, but was tired of getting gouged on receivers. Once you program a couple of planes, you can do the rest in your sleep.

Re: Whats up with futaba

I bought my MC-20 from Germany before they were available in NA. There is a menu choice of France and the rest of the world. It does not reduce the power output. In the case of France the number of channels it jumps on is reduced. In the rest of the world the Graupner/SJ radios jump on 78 channels. With France selected I believe the number drops to somewhere around 40ish.

I have had my MC-20 for two years and have never even had a complaint from the radio about the lack of telemetry. This would happen WAY before the RF is in trouble and this is with a Tx with a patch antenna. Don't have to worry about the position or breaking it. LOL

I would not give the MC-20 up for any other radio. Period!

By the way the top display is for telemetry. I must admit I hardly ever look at it while flying as I set up the switch on the top left to give an audio output of what I am interested in. I usually stick with Rx voltage and flight time with my powered A/C.
