Re: Multiple turbine oil/fuel mixes?

My wren has always dined on the 5% that the Jetcats like, with no problems. Overhauled at 28 hours, and well into its' second overhaul cycle....

Re: Multiple turbine oil/fuel mixes?

My current engine is a Wren Super Sport with 3% oil and the other may be a Simjet at 4%. I have contacted Wren about oil usage and they are now recommending 5% for all there engines, even legacy ones. They also mentioned that the lower oil content was also still exceptable. Basically I can run my Wren at between 3-5% as per the manufacturer so I can still only use one jug for simplicity and space.

Hope this helps other newbies and Wren owners.

Re: Multiple turbine oil/fuel mixes?

I use a blue plastic container to dispense 5% mix for my PST's and a yellow plastic container to dispense 2.5% for my Jet Central Rhino. Easy Peasy!!!!

Re: Multiple turbine oil/fuel mixes?

What are the two brands you have? FYI its also important to not mix different oils together. A ratio between 3 -5 % works on most brands.

Multiple turbine oil/fuel mixes?

I am looking into getting a second turbine that may not have the same oil/fuel mix as my current engine.

What do you guys do? Do you carry multiple fuel setups for each percentage or do you cheat and go in between the two ratios?

Thanks
Steven
