Re: Multiplex Cularis build

I am going to use the MPX 12x6 prop. Not looking for a rocket climb by any means. I have however been disappointed with much of what I ordered for the project. The hole for the spinner screw was drilled off center.( HK collets are notorious for this). The collet washers are way oversize, I had to use a tape spacer.
Even the nut is not concentric. Then, I noticed a slight wobble on the back of the motor when I was spinning the unit by hand. The spinner has a backplate wobble as well.

Jan, this will be a sedate climber with this motor, I have one with similar power. What prop size are you planning?

I just got my Hyperion 2213 outrunner for my EasyGlider. Its the one with the tapered long front for gliders. The MPX gliders don't really need this feature but if I get another glider that needs it then it was a good idea. I also got the proper EG/Cularis spinner prop on the same order from ALL-E RC. They had it all in stock .

Ahhhhhh...gotcha....Found the Cularis to be one of those sailplanes you can sit in your chair and enjoy a beer while you fly. Ya..love the multiplex stuff. My first plane was the Mulitplex Gemini. Still have it! Bought my father the Multiplex Mentor, we should have that in the air this spring. Going to use it to tow up his glider thats been sitting in his workshop for about 5 years now.

Re: Multiplex Cularis build

It's not really negative, it is more lack of particular performance. It all depends on levels of experience, what you want the glider to do and how you use it. Not all gliders fill different roles equally as do planes, that is why we have different planes for 3D, pattern, sport. I like Multiplex stuff and to me, their quality is way above anything that Parkzone can produce, for example, but my Radian is sometimes better for some roles, then my Easy Glider pro. So, that is the long reason I have not bought mine yet, not sure what role will be important to me this summer, slope , thermal.......

Hmmm...curious as to what anyone would say negative about this bird?
Sold my unfinished kit to a buddy just recently, but bought it back on the weekend...lol
Started to finish it up. Ive flown one at the club and thought it was the cats ass.
Very nice smooth flyer.

Not yet, not sure what I am doing for the summer. There are different opinions on how well it flies.
