Re: Spektrum DX8 recall does anyone kno how to do firmware upgrade? i tried to download it and when it downloads half way through it stops and say's it was interrupted,i tried another computer and same thing happened. any idea? Thanks |

Re: Spektrum DX8 recall Hi guys a little off topic but I sent recall info into Horizon Hobbies on July 7. I have not received email response with shipping label information yet. I also talked to a support guy there late last week. He also put all my info into his computer in case I didn't do it properly. He said I would be contacted shortly. How long is shortly I wonder? I have not used this radio for several weeks now and when I do send it in I guess it will be a few more weeks. Hope to have radio fixed and back before weather gets crappy and planes go away again! Re: Spektrum DX8 recall I finally go my radio back from HH  . I got my original radio back plus a 6ch park fly Rx for my trouble lol. I plan to do a good range test as soon as it stops  raining. If all is good I will be so very happy. I plan to use the radian Rx and BEC with the telemetry unit to see if low voltage on the Rx is causing issues. They did change a bridge rectifier in the Tx so maybe that was causing issues. Attached is the paper work that they sent back with the radio, I forgot to scan the business card with the solder drop on it lol. Over all they were good to deal with and restored some of my confidence in them although I was with out the radio for about 6 weeks.

Mine is in according to ups so I went to pick it up but the girl at the Value Drug where it got shipped said she could not give it to me(apparently no one there knows what they are doing). So Monday of Tuesday when ever I make it to town again I will let you know, along with a comprehensive range test as I don't trust these radios anymore. |

Re: Spektrum DX8 recall Yup, they never asked for mine receipt and the radio is sitting in the depot waiting to be picked up. I hope they got it fixed properly  , I want to try to fly lol. They also have been having problems with their email or something like that. I had a reply within 2 days to send out my dx8. When I picked up a RTF radian and seen the dx5 was on the list too I went through the claim process again, but never received a reply. After crashing due to a brown out I phoned HH and that is when I learned about the claim process problem. I did remember something about using IE when you submit as FF and google chrome seem to be issues(I was pretty mad about crashing at the time). Regardless if your PID is on the list and you don't get a timely response resubmit.

Spektrum DX8 recall Spektrum DX8 Recall. Hi,does anyone kno if i would need my bill of sale to send back my DX8 to horizon hobby for the recall. I can't seem to find my bill from Great Hobbies. so what should i do? |
