You don't reverse it in the radio, it has to be done on the gyro itself. I believe there's a switch on there. (Someone with more experience with the 450 gyro may correct me if I'm wrong).

That said, if you've already hovered it, and it didn't spin like mad, then it's not reversed.

Ok I got how to figure out proper gyro direction and I think mine was wrong but when I reverse the gyro channel it makes no difference?

Actually I think I am really close now. I spooled her up and she shook like crazy. Put on a nice balanced set of blades and tried again. Spooled up beautiful, actually hovered "Very Briefly" and set her down. I think she is ready to go out for a maiden... We do have an old heli guy down at the Brockville Club but I like trying things on my own. Thanks to some knowledgeable help I think we got it!! Thanks Again Guys!!! May neeed some more help after maiden!!! LOL

Re: Blade 400 3D Reversed

imo, the easiest way to explain it is -

Move the tail of the heli back and forth while everything's turned on. The TRAILING edge of the blades should move in the same direction you move the tail. If the trailing edge moves the opposite direction, the gyro needs to be reversed.

Of course this assumes that the tail blades aren't on backwards

+1 to that my friends. Much easier in person. Rotormonkey knows what he is doing.

Re: Blade 400 3D Reversed

I know a simple trick but its hard to explain. I will do my best.

have the heli fully armed with main motor disconected.
Initialize like you were going to fly.
Have the tail boom pointing at your chest on a flat surface. Turn the tail blade grips so they are verticle.
pull the lower tail blade 90 degrees to the shaft so it points straight out the back.
now move the tail to the right (heli CCW)
the tail blade should swing to the right to counteract the drift of your moving it.
If the tailblade moves left then it is backwards.
Imagine the heli is a boat and the trailing blade is the ruidder as it is moved the rudder turns to straighten it back to ghe original heading.

hope that makes sense once you get it straight you will never forget it.

Re: Blade 400 3D Reversed

How do I know gyro direction is correct??

Re: Blade 400 3D Reversed

Alittle tail servo creep is normal and may require a little set up or trim. If the gyro direction is correct I would carefully spool it up on a smooth surface and see how it reacts at this point.
