Re: Extra 300 or Edge 540? Here's a few pics of my Extra 260. I know have 25 flights with her, a great flyer. Looks good in the air and a joy to fly. Inverted flight barely needs a shot of elevator. Handles well in wind or very little to no wind conditions. For motivation I run the O.S 1.60 FX with a V.P 30 regulating Perry Pump,swinging a Xoar 18x8 prop ,a very good combination. |

Re: Extra 300 or Edge 540? I fly a 50cc edge 540 and it's an awesome 3d machine, loves to harrier. Now I haven't flown an extra so I can't say about how it is for 3D. |

Re: Extra 300 or Edge 540? Peter, I have had a few of each. It has been my experience. (Might be more my opinion). I always compare any airframe to what (in my mind) has been the best flying airplane I have ever owned. An Aeroworks Extra 300 (I have owned two now). My big Sukhoi, I can only say fly's as well. Now for the Edge 540. I had one the was fun enough, yet a bear at times to land. Stall right at the ground. Yet, last year the airframe that got the most airtime, was a Pilot Edge 540. 144 flights, lots of fun. I liked the engine, size, and set-up of this one. It is my belief either would be fun, and work for you. What size are you looking at in this comparison? Re: Extra 300 or Edge 540? I just had my first flights on my Edge 540 Seagull kit 40 size with a .61 O.S FX. Flies great, solid performer. Wingspan I believe is 60' . I am a believer in seagull kits well built, as I have several. |
