Thanks Charles and Bill for the good wishes.
I will report on the next flights. It has been a great challenge to start with only a drawing and try to make something fly. It's fun making mistakes, that I'm so good at! )

Re: 48" Bristol Scout

Hi Larry, The weather has been great this year. The only worry is the loss with all the forest fires, they need rain so bad.
I still can't build an airplane as well as you can! What are you building Now?

Dave have a safe trip south. The flying site is near Flagler Beach. The Flagler RAMS do have a great place to fly.

48" Bristol Scout

Having spent the last two months building a Bristol Scout from enlarged and modified Peter Rake drawings (160%) I finally had it ready to fly ( waiting on my graphics). My friend helped me get things ready when we found I had the motor turning backwards and rudder wrong. I had an AR7000 receiver in the plane and changed it for an AR600. Somehow, back home, I forgot to check things out. I paid the penalty, the first flight was good but the controls very touchy. We made some adjustments and went up again. This time on the second turn it made a spiral to the ground with loss of radio. I can only think I needed to reBIND the system after we made the changes as everything was working perfectly on the work bench. I have spent three days in repairs and now wait for good weather to give it another go! The AR7000 is back in the plane. See before, after, and now. (Rebuilt , on the back of the chair.) I think it will be a great flying airplane at about 4 pounds, E-flite 32, 60 amp esc two 2200s in for nose weight. 13" prop to get past that cowl. It flew nicely at half speed and looked very good in the air. )
Cheers, Glenn
