Re: Servo Glitch

WELL! Anyhow...

Got the two Hitech 5805 steering servos... 5645 t/b servo.... also upgraded the Radio to SPEKTRUM DX4C TX / 4210 RX.... works beautiful (I thought I ordered the DX4S and was a little bummed it was the DX4C but so far still very happy with it!)

Did the RCSCREWZ SS screw kit on the Rampage... andddd the end result is AMAZING... finally can bash without fixing delays!
so far.

Re: Servo Glitch

So I took this thing apart and realised the following...

Stock rampage mt pro - must upgrade electronics and screws.

Turns out one steering servo is toast... funny the working one smelt burnt and the toast one smelt normal.

I have already ordered a RCSCREWZ kit to replace the factory junk-a-lot and need to know what servo to consider here...

What do u guys think of two 5805MG Hitec servos for replacement?

Re: Servo Glitch

Any marking on the servos at all? Also, have you tried switching the servo plugs?

Sometimes you may have a bad Y-connector.

However, I suspect the servo may have a bad control board, pot or it may have gotten wet at some point. If you can, pull that servo and open the back cover. Look for corrosion or white deposits that will indicate it was wet at some point.

Re: Servo Glitch

The servos are both on one channel with a Y split wire going from both servos into the RX.

It glitch is heavy and it will do it no matter what.... one servo is okay the other one is just going crazy... makes me think its the servo.

I am going to upgrade the radio to a spektrum model since that seems be the talk of RC radio equipment... if that doesn't help I will upgrade the servos (which are identical... whatever the rampage mt pro comes with no idea what make and model, never taken them out)

Wiring is all good... maybe the servo is just due to be replaced??

Re: Servo Glitch

Back up a bit and see if someone else can check to see if the glitching stops.

Not sure if any 2.4 systems suffer this, but with 72MHz sometimes you could over saturate the receiver if the antenna were too close.

Another would be to see if your glitching switches if you swap servo channels. If not then I suspect you may have one with a bad plug, wiring or internal problem. What make and model servo(s)? Both identical?

Another problem could be servo wiring too close to power or ESC/MOTOR wiring. You need to maximize distance between your power system and control system. See if anything twitches if you move the wiring around.

It was years ago, but I was asked to test CopterX and FlySky gear by a local supplier. Looked good. That's all I'll say.

Servo Glitch

Hello I am pretty new to the 1/5 scale rc trucks...

I have two steering servos on my rampage mt pro and I got it all dialed in pretty well.

Today I noticed one of the steering servos are glitching bad...

Is this because of the radio? It is a flysky 2.4ghz tx and rx

Could this be fixed by getting better servos? (I really don't bash that much... and don't think it needs better servos?) Or should I upgrade the radio??

Any input?
