I do find his stuff very, very lightly built. I've got his 1/5th Spit and Me-109. Both of which I built fuse crutches for, to ensure proper strength.

Just happened to be using my tablet while on a vacation trip, and spotted your thread. Have to admit that the Duellist is one of my all-time favourite designs, in spite of being a DavePlatt design (one wag that I know and trust their opinion referred to DS as Dave Splatt due to the designs being a bit on the light side for heavy-handed flying skills). I just happened to be in a magazine store and picked up the June RCM&E, and found a similar design for twin .15s called a "Grumpy Tigercub" -- (Rc2133). A bit more shortcoupled than the Duellist but the same look.

I still love the Luftewaffe variation of the Deullist. Once I've worn the monokote off this one, I'll probably re-cover in the scheme in your pic.

Finally found some time to carry on with the Deulist. Pics taken, just have to download. Fuse is covered, wings as well, minus the engine nacelles. Have to finish those off, then start installing engines and radio gear. Hopefully ready to maiden in a couple of weeks.

Did 3 flights on the Ultra Sport .40 today, the OS 55 AX fired up instantly, and with a slight tweak to the lower end, had her set up just a hair rich, for the first while to break in. She's fast, roll rate on high is stellar, but in the 10-15 knots winds, she slowed down to a fast walk for touch and go's. Really impressed at how well such a small ship handled the gusty winds. Straight as an arrow, required 2 clicks up elevator, and 2 left aileron, to be fully trimmed out. Did circuits the first flight, for about 3 minutes, got bored, and went into rolls, loops, hammer heads, etc. I'll see how she spins tomorrow, but stall recovery is a yawn, simply let go of the sticks, and she self-recovers in no time. Just like the Ultra Sport 60, no vices to speak of at all! Love it.

Oh, for Paul, you missed out, just sold a second NIB Deullist Kit on here, shipping it out tomorrow! I didn't put retracts on the .40, but do have E Flite electric retracts on the .60. The little guy will be used a lot as an advanced trainer for my students, so kept it simple.

I probably won't be keeping the 46 LA's on it for more than this season, they'll eventually be used to test fly my plans built Me-262, which will probably want more power down the road as well. The Deullist is strictly for sunday fun flying, and getting as much twin time as possible, before I fly my Top FLite DC-3, the Me-262, and the twin Turbax DF A-10 Thunderbolt I'm working on! Hopefully all 3 will be flying by the end of this summer.

The US 40 is my third Ultra Sport, had a .60 in Germany, I've got one now, with a Saito 100 for power, and it's got unlimited vertical! The OS 55 AX on the little Ultra Sport should make it a little rocket, for sure. Now I just need an Ultra Sport 1000!!!!! sigh.
