Re: Update 8/23:X9303 TX and orange RX compatibility

Test flew both (rx & sat, other unit rx no sat): no issues. Both flew as normal. Not sure that I want to trust a $2000 airplane with a $5 receiver but they do work at greater distances than I normally fly at.

Re: X9303 TX and orange RX compatibility UPDATE 8/23

UPDATE:

Alright, I finally got them to bind. Still an issue but I was able to get both RX to bind by standing at 3 1/2' from the RX and turning the TX on. NO other distance would work nor does moving through that specific distance with the TX on.

The remaining issue is one RX with sat binds with this method and the other RX will bind but not the sat that is attached to it (both units flash as in the pre-bind state).

By this I mean the other RX with a separate sat-->both flash but when the bind starts, the rx goes to the slow flash (binding) state but the sat light stops flashing AND then the RX successfully binds (solid light) but not the sat (no lights).

Neither of these will go into a "decent" plane at this point, only in coro birds.

I have to try the "good" sat in the other RX and see what happens. At least now I can just leave the bound RX in their appropriate unused model on the TX for future use.

A lot of work (and uncertainty) for a $5 rx.

Tks for the input you provided.

Not so Daren. The guy that couldn't bind was using the XP with a module (not my radio). Another said he could bind (but with "a 9303") so I don't know which radio he was using.

Guess I'll try to find a $50 DX7 like Warren did.

Tks for trying.

FWIW, it won't bind on my x9303 with or without the satellite. They will both bind on a DX6i.

No one else at my club has the X9303.

Not sure what the problem can be.. I have the exact same set up as you, and they work perfectly. I fly my high powered EDFs over 3/4 of a mile away in both directions and they never so much as glitch. Can you post a link to the one you have. Im useing the 6x and the 9x in the hard orange case.

I had a 9303 dedicated 2.4 that bound no problem, even bound to my 11X.

Update 8/23:X9303 TX and orange RX compatibility

These orange receivers seem to be working out all right so for $5, what the heck. I'll get one and I'll fly it in coro and see what happens.

HOWEVER, I can't get it to bind. Is my TX on the fritz or is this RX a dud (in fact, I have two of the orange ones. Neither will bind to my X9303 but both will bind to my buddy's dx6i. Not compatible with JR even it too uses DSM2?

Using an X9303: the lights flash on the orange rx at the start of bind mode like they're supposed to but no bind occurs. 1', 2', 5', 10', 25' zippo. Yah, I know how to bind.

Maybe my TX?? Don't think so as I can bind to AR9000, 6200, etc with no issues.

I know it says on the HK site that
Quote:
Compatible with all Spektrum DSM2 Air transmitters.
(and for futaba, it says futaba transmitters) so even though JR & Spektrum are compatible with each other, I'm wondering whether JR is excluded from that "orange" compatibility and that I made an incorrect assumption.

SO, my question is:

Anyone out there using a JR 2.4 dedicated (not a moduled XP9303) TX (preferably X9303) with these HK orange RX who have successfully bound? Are these RX are in fact not compatible with JR
