But a heck of a lot cheaper! I have been hooked since then.

Now with low-level proximity flying and 250 racing around obstacles and through forests, FPV will give you an experience you will NEVER have in full scale :) :) :)[/QUOTE]

Watching a youtube video of a guy flying over the clouds. doesn't seem as cool now but in the right area far from people why not!

I have been perusing Barnstormers and such. Not cheap for decent built CH701. I would consider someone's incomplete plane, and would prefer to buy a new FI Rotax or better and my own avionics. Would also build in a BRS. This is not something I am ready to do now, maybe in 5-10 years

There is little point in building right now unless that is something you enjoy doing.

So many aircraft on the used market for less than the price of a kit and engine.

my long term plan is to build me a STOL CH701. With 60ft landing roll, opens up a lot more options for deadstick, LOL

I'd rather lose an engine in a Lazair over rough terrain or water than in a 172.

However the Lazair is not exactly a cross country plane.

Rental Cessna came back from the paint shop yesterday. Nice new paint and a $26k bill to go along with it. Maybe I should just buy a little two seat taildragger.

very nice! Lazair twin seems to have been real popular in souther Ontario. I remember seeing lots of them in the 80s when I lived in the Woodstock area

be we got too many rocks and slat water and not many options for forced landings here
