Flywheel weight has a huge impact on how a motor runs and its reliablilty. I know that a while back there were tests of lightweight losi flywheels and the motor lost its ability to idle smoothly. With that said a heavy wheel tends to be smoother than the aluminum. Most losi drivers from the west only use the steel or aluminum losi flywheels.

I have found that compared to their tracks in the west we have a lot less mommentum and tight corners where we lose most of our speed so i personally prefer the losi blue aluminum flywheel.
Great advise..

Jay Cristiano Just run the stock setup. It's best because parts are easy to get and you can compare pro drivers setups.

Jay Cristiano Why do you need a clutch for an electric car

imported_Semple The Werks clutches are good, just about the same as the Ascendancy. I did notice that the Werks shoes seem to slip a little bit more than Ascendancy.

I'd suggest M2C Variable Weight 4-shoe kit or the Ascendancy setup.

You should be able to get a stock clutch to do what you want.

Pete Elphinstone Jr There is a thread for this question on RC Tech. I know for sure the Xray cars are supposed to run 32mm flywheels. I believe most others are 34mm.
The new Werks Pro clutch is great, I currently run it in my truggy.
If you are running it on a B6 I recommend the light weight especially for Hardcore. i have the medium and will opt for the light next time.

Guest I think the diameter of the flywheel has to do more so with what vehicle its going in than the track. Its the weight of the flywheel that is used in relation to track conditions.Heavy for low traction, lighter for high traction. There is a medium as well.

Jay Cristiano Why don't you just use the stock clutch? What car do you have?
