Cool, hope to hear from you and Coyote, after the maiden flights!

Re: Top Flite T-34

Ok so after a bit of waiting on parts I installed a DLE 20 to the Firewall.
Now I can continue with the rest of the build.
Thanks Dave for your help. I don't like the amount of offset on the engine but it is a mirror of the original and is what is called for in the plans so I will build around it and see how it works out.

Re: Top Flite T-34

Cowl mounting blocks all done, and I've completed installation of the switches for the Rx Battery, and Ignition Battery. I'll get the lower half of the cowl painted shortly, and then that's it, another one done, and delivered!

Re: Top Flite T-34

Top half of the cowl is painted, exhausts are painted, just one cheek cowl to do, then can paint the bottom 1/2, and mount. Everything else is done!

Re: Top Flite T-34

I suspect a 15cc might be a bit underpowered. Marc's has a DLE 20cc, and I'd even consider bumping up to 30. I put the throttle servo on the firewall, lots of room, and super easy to setup.

Re: Top Flite T-34

That sure turned out great Dave.
Here is some pictures of my progress.
I'm not sure but may mount the engine inverted.
My other thought is going with a larger engine than the 15cc.
I'm not sure what other brand would be reliable and with a rear carb how hard it would be to hook up the throttle servo and such?

Decisions.... Decisions.

Also, love your side mounting setup, it will maximize cowl space, and the turbine inlets will help with the spark plug cap, you won't have to open things anywhere near as much as on this one.

Re: Top Flite T-34

Head's up Randy, surprisingly, even with a heavy aluminum spinner, and of course moving the engine so far forward, CG is still just a tad aft. Have to add switches for the receiver, receiver, ignition and receiver batteries, which should bring it pretty much bang on! Gotta love it! lol
PS a real turbo-prop T-34 would be very cool!

I'll post a pile of pics in the AM, all tuckered out now.
