Re: TT Agusta Power Goblin 700 Just for curiosity, have you ever used a fixed rpm setting? I run three settings in the CC 160 (and have three settings in all my CC ESC's) and the built-in governor works pretty good. You might find it a bit easier to control as all you are changing is the pitch. I might be misunderstanding what your settings are by those descriptions. Take care. Don |

Re: TT Agusta Power Goblin 700 Thank you Don for the comments, food for thought. The motor on the Power is a Scorpion 5025-440. ESC is set at 50% for hover and 85 at full collective. Everything runs very cool so motor and ESC are quite happy. I like the higher rpm for rolls, loops etc... I agree 100% that lower sounds better and is most appropriate for scale flight. At the moment my goal is trying the highest practical rpm. SAB lists 19T to 26T pulleys opening a vast array of possibilities. |

Re: TT Agusta Power Goblin 700 Hi: You know, it may be that you have been used to the much higher rpms of the pod and boom helicopters so the very different tone the helicopter makes at the lower rpm might make it sound like there is no power. My MD7 is currently being tested at 1000, 1100, and 1200 rpm and I like all speeds as my goal is to fly very large scale helicopters in Team Scale. I have two five pound weights that I will be mounting on the underside of the chassis when my next battery tray comes in. First, I will see if the helicopter will perform at all with the additional 5 pounds at 1000 rpm and if it does, it will be a great simulator of a scale body. When I finish with that, the 800mm blades will go on and I will lower it even more to 850 rpm and add an additional 5 pounds bringing the total to 10. Yours sounds just great as it is but if you are worried about the gear ratios not being optimum, maybe a lower kv motor will get you the performance as then the ESC will not be too far out of optimum operational range. For my 1000 rpm setting, the ESC is at around 80% so the motor and ESC are only mildly warm when they are tested after flight. The ESC has never broken 100 degrees, even when I flew it in Florida in 90 degree heat. When I change to the 800 blades, the ESC will need to be a bit lower but the fan onboard will help with any additional cooling needed as it will be around 72.5%. Those four blades sound great. Re: TT Agusta Power Goblin 700 I switched to the larger Diamond .50-.90 head as per recommended by Phil and lowered rpm to 1350. For some reason the bigger head has always been smoother than the .30-.50. It will stay but I'm not sure I like the lower head speed yet. A test in the open field will tell but wx is terrible at the moment... |

Re: TT Agusta Power Goblin 700 Nice finish to that kit. I finally own a MD7 700 size helicopter which will be my go to helicopter for large scale flying. On reserve for it are 810's from Rotor Tech and the 800 boom to go along with it. I finally got my 700 Jet Ranger body kit in and I am thinking that I bit off more that I can chew for storage of it, lol. I have been in one of those Agusta's for a ride around the GTA and it is a very smooth ride compared to the Jet Ranger. Aside from a commercial jet, it is the fastest I have ever flown in any private aircraft as we were testing the top speed sensor and warning system. The one thing that surprised me is that it is really not a very large helicopter and trust me, I had fun trying to squeeze myself into that front seat. I folded parts of me that have not moved in years. I hope to see it this summer and I should have my MH-6 up and finished by then. Take care. Don |

Re: TT Agusta Power Goblin 700 Yes, Hobbyking. Even if their tech department says it does'nt work on Taranis. On the video you see a cheap and real bad one but I have been flying with the Hobbyking for a year and their's solved the problem. |
