Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7 I started this project in 2011 and now almost seven years later I finally got the maiden in and it flew great.Total weight is around 45lbs (light for one of these).Thats with about 6lbs of lead up front if I remember.Last year I couldn't maiden because my ignition box had problems.Gerhard at Aircraft International sent me another and now the 3W 85 runs real good. The winds were light at takeoff ,the D7 tracked straight down the field, and after takeoff needed zero trimming , it flew great , basically hands off and after a few circuits the same with landing , slow and right on the numbers.I've never maidened an airplane that flew this well off the hop like this. |

Re: GTM 1/3 Fokker D-7 Basically everything is just about comlete,I just need to finish some fuse handles, step, some cable reinforcing, some cockpit work installing the seat, seat belts etc.you know it just keeps going on and on and on. I'm getting my outdoor shop ready for the D7,to complete balancing after final assembly.I'm FINALLY gettting some time to accomplish these things from work...we'll see how it goes.. |
