Re: First Hex Copter

Was flying my Hex tonight and as I said its is pretty stable. Other than take off or trying to attain a reasonable set altitude. On take off I sort of need to accelerate fast and then pull the stick back a little otherwise it wants to fall over. When I am flying I try and keep at an altitude of maybe 10 feetbut find I must be on the stick all the time . Just thesmallest movement of the throttle it will gain or lose altitude. Now are these normal occurances or am I missing some settings. Thanks in advance

Re: First Hex Copter

Well I now know you can do or get info or directions for anything you want on Google. You just have to ask the right questions. I have a Hex I have been trying to get airborn for some time. I usually have a couple of computer friends that help me out. Which I am deeply indebted to. well was having trouble getting together So I googled "procedure to flash multiwii board for dummies" found RC Tutor and his description was flawless. I managed to upload multi wii 2.1 and then use the multiwii gui and calibrate etc etc. Took it outside and we have lift off Quite stable right out of the box so as to speak . More so than any quad I have owned ,probably cause it is quite big and has two extra motors to help balance it out. Thanks again to all those that helped . Now to hook up some lights to help with orientation.Yah!

Re: First Hex Copter

Yup, sure does.

Calibrated fine, gyro and compass worked great just two dead input channels.

It could still be used as a camera gimbal controller.

Re: First Hex Copter

Now that bites Nerwin came over tonight and we spent 2.5 hrs on the board but it appears that it probably crashed one to many times. We couldn't get Yaw or roll to work on the program no matter what we did . Guess I up for a new board. Probably a KK2 as they are very reasonable and work well. Thanks again Norm

Re: First Hex Copter

The Crius likely came with an X configuration for a quad, you need to load the proper sketch file on it for the +6 configuration.

Then on to the fun of the rest.
