It is cool. Great for speed passes and for very slow flight.

I also went with the Fut 7008 Rx that has the SBUS and SBUS2 ports and got the battery voltage telemetry for the 18MZ. I'll then be ready when the GPS telemetry module is available in a couple weeks so I can have real time speed and altitude info on my TX!

Again, I appreciate the advice!!

With the plane expected to ship next week, I thought I'd better get going on the servo selection. I've been doing a ton of research on servo selection and it seems like 150-200oz-in is about all that's needed for the 9 servos (2 elev, 2 rudd, 2 ail, 2 flap, 1 nosewheel)

Just wondering peoples thougths on this??? I'm used to getting the 500+ oz-in servos for the Giant Scale stuff but it does seem overkill on a jet where throws are soo small and one can work mechanical advantage into the mix!!.

I've had great luck wth Savox and Futaba on the GS planes. I'll likely go brushless and SBUS to keep it really smooth, clean and simple.

Cheers

Trev,

The Fubartaba's will work as well as Savox's. Quality - as in centering and precision is better than quantity - as in huge amounts of torque. Watch the stab - it will only accept 19 mm cases and the high torque stuff is usually 20 or 21 mm.

Since you are going s-bus, I would be tempted to go with Futaba's. will keep things like th boom/stab wiring crazy simple although, if you try to use one wire for both rudders and elevators, you will have fun getting the wire across from one side to the other thru the stab. Personally, I hate taking my booms off not so much because of the wires that need to be unplugged, but I love that you can show up to the field, slide the wings on and go fly.

Re: Need Some Help - My first Jet

Servo precision and torque is more important than speed. You don't need speed in the servos for jets. You are not stickbanging large movements. When flying at 150+, the servos centering ability becomes very apparent. Chasing trim sucks. Choose precise servos.

HI Trevor

I use mainly JR 8911 HV for my jets, But I use standard Futaba 124oz for my Elan, you dont need more than that for that jet. They are S3305.

Trev you gotta go BLS. We know how crisp and responsive they make the GS plane feel. Imagine with a jet!!
