Re: My First Flight

Good job on the first flight... the bug has now bit you and put the fangs in deep. I last flew helicopters 18 years ago, but had to leave the hobby when my daughter was born... promising myself to get back into it again.... and this summer I did. Once bitten by the flying bug... you're in for life.

It can also be set up on a computerized radio using mixes instead of switching the Sx lead.

ACT should only take over in extreme situations, like a hard bank, a nose-dive, etc. That's why it's turned off for sport flying. It won't compensate for wind like a 3-axis gyro does.

I'm pretty sure it would be ok. Extreme conditions may cause trouble though. I flew mine twice and turned it off, so I haven't had a chance to experience those situations. I would say be prepared to turn it off if you have trouble.

It's easier to do loops and rolls with it turned off. Actually, the rolls look more like corkscrews.

If it's the BNF version, you can move the Sx wire to the rudder output on the Rx.

Re: My First Flight

Thanks! I'm hopping on getting some skis for the winter and am hopefully going to make a runway soon (while batteries are charging).
