Hi Keith,

Starting CG should be about 26%min to 28%max M.A.C. Since the Waco has the top wing slightly ahead of the bottom wing, measure from the LE of the top wing to the TE of the bottom wing and take your percentage from that measurement.

Need Advice Re: Waco Taperwing CG

We are about to maiden a 1/4 Scale Taperwing that we stole off of Jeremy in Langley. It was masterfully built from MAN plans but there is no center of gravity indicated on the plans. We have it balancing at the leading edge of the lower wing, which corresponds to about 1/3 of the chord of the upper wing.

Does this sound flyable? Neither of us are biplane experts and any time we ask the old guys at our club we get "There's a formula for that..." but the specifics are not forthcoming.

Input welcome.
