Re: ZDZ 90 rv-J

It's already an old thread, but i don't want to add a new one, due to the valuable information already posted in this thread.

Does someone has done some further experimentation? I'm interested in the following prop data:
Mejzlik 28x10
Mejzlik 28x12
Mejzlik 29x10S

And is the ideal header length (12 3/4 inch) including the teflon coupler or not?

Thanks

Re: ZDZ 90 rv-J

I have read this thread through completely a few times. Now while waiting the last few days for mine to arrive. I'd be very interested in knowing how Bill's (formerly Trevor's) 90 looks after the teardown. Please post results when you get them Bill. In advance, thank-you.

Re: ZDZ 90 rv-J

any of these engines could last a life time if run correctly(proper mix) , if on the other hand you only need it to last a couple of years or you get rid of them quickly 100:1 will work ,it will run cleaner for sure .it just wears out faster. I did a test once on a 2 cycle mower and ran it with no oil at all , filled the tank, started it, ran it full throttle till the tank ran out ,to my surprise nothing happened ,I am sure I took a couple of years off it's life but it still ran, this does not mean it was good for it. oil does more than lube the motor , it seals the ring for compression , it takes up clearance in the bearings, piston skirt and rings,it also helps with heat transfer . most engines run on low oil will suffer from ring land wear first as the dry ring will pound the ring lands out.this is the clicking sound you get just before you send your engine for repair.the chrome will be one of the last things to fail.

PS: you can check ring land wear through the port,if you can see the ring move when rocking the piston there is not enough oil or the lands are worn.
