From what I read on Wikipedia, the plane was only 1/2 built when they had to hide it from the Germans when they invaded France. After the war, the plane changed hands a few times until it arrived in the US where the buyer just wanted it for the engines, which he promptly yanked out of the airframe. So the plane was never finished and it never flew. How did it get the moniker that it did 475 mph before WWII? Did I miss something?

I made the mistake of covering a plane in sky blue monocoat. Added some bright red so I could see it.

The Bugatti looks like it is set to break the sound barrier while it's sitting still!
