Thanks Supercub, good to know there's still parts available, I haven't need any yet (knock on wood). I've been flying mine for two season now and love it. Unfortunately it's been way too cold to get the DLE 30 started (-30*) or when it warms up the wind is 40km + so no winter flying here in Manitoba.
I have a set of floats for her but haven't had a chance to try them out. We're planing on going to a float fly in northwest Ontario this summer to try the Beaver in the environment it's best suited for.

Re: Buying a Slipstream Beaver

Here is mine with a DM-33 engine.
As said many times on this thread already, its too much power but I put a huge 20x6 prop on it so it slows it down quite a bit.

I'm working on a float set right now and I just finished installing the windows. They really add to the looks of the plane.

I once flew when it was -15 deg C and I had 3 aileron hinges break... Made for an interesting landing haha. I replaced them with small 1/8'' robarts. Too bad I cannot replace the one in the tail due to me perma gluing the U wire that connects both elevators and also the tail wheel wire glued into the rudder.

Not sure this plane is going back on wheels unless i find some gigantic tundra tires

Fun little plane !

They look too short but perform great.

The floats are a Great planes 60 size kit that I covered with resin( 2 coats). My wife taped and painted them for me. They are V bottom and all wood(resin outside). I only have video for about 1/8th of the flights with the beaver. I am using Ipone oil at 32:1 and it seems to keep the engine and muffler very clean, smells good too.

Good for you! I'm a firm beleiver that the more you run a gasser, the better they run. I have an old G62 that must have a 205litre drum of fuel run through it. I actually mounted it on a glider tug near Christmas. Had the muffler off, it was amazing how nice the cylinder was. I've owned that engine twice out of the 5 owners since about 1999.
Over Christmas I ran 15L of fuel through a new ZDZ90 on my test stand. Represents at least 8hrs running. So you must have several hundred flights on your Beaver. (Nice to watch the use of rudder).

P.S.
Have some side photo's of your floats?
Flat bottom foam?

Looking good Dale, get some 5" inflatable Dubros for it now. I have about 25 Liters of gas through mine now with some hard landings and deadsticks but is still going strong, actually better. Good luck
