Re: What was your very first RC Model?

First rc plane completed and flown: Skyward 40(built 1996), with ASP 40 and Futaba 4 channel conquest FM radio. First flown 1997.

Prior to that, I tried building a Jetco Cessna 170 in junior high(72-3). Had a OS PET III 099 and a Udesco(Futaba) 3 channel for it. Mucked up the fuse so bad, it was never completed.

I am afriad to admit I remember both the Taxi and the Cox Sportavia. I had one of the Cox Sportavia's when I was learning to fly.

Re: What was your very first RC Model?

Hobbyzone Firebird XL, back around 2000. "Flew" it once - not pretty - ended up in a ditch full of water. Relegated to a dark corner of my workshop until I tossed it out a couple of years ago.

First plane that I've flown and kept flying: Hobbyzone Super Cub LP starting late 2010. Finally got serious late last summer and can't wait to get her out again.

Re: What was your very first RC Model?

My first plane back in 1972 was a TAXI kit by Graupner high wing painted fuselage and tissue and dope covered wings powered with an OS 19 and 3 channels. The radio was a 4ch Space Commander on 27 Mhz, got it at Eatons in Mtl and was distributed by Udisco...............
I still have the plane and the OS 19 and I plan to recover the wing and fly it some day of course with a 2.4 and I gave the old radio to a friend who collects them. (4 wire servos).

Q-Tee Cox golden bee .049 Sanwa 2 chanel radio (two sticks). First one lasted about 8 seconds. Good thing it had full size plans. Finally had a flight last afull tank of fuel on the 3rd Q-Tee.
