Re: 3GX Questions

Im also using the 3gx and beastx. 3gx works great when its setup right. Alot of pilots switching to he beastx or other controllers and basically selling their 3gx's for under 70 dollars. Ive picked up three so far for under 70 dollars on rcgroups or helifreaks. These units were new. You cant beat those prices for a great fbl controller.

Re: 3GX Questions

Well the maiden was a success. It is very quick. yet stops any movementas soon as I stop putting in inputs. Will enjoy this one. I just need to speed up my reaction time. If I didn't get the info from this thread was going to toss 3gx and use flybar. I am sure glad I didn't . Thanks to all that put up this information. Phil

Re: 3GX Questions

Yes it is on a 450 pro. It has the stock align digitals and dfc head. Craneman I finaly got the 3gx updated thanks to your posts on another thread and am nearing flight. This thread has been a great help for a flybar guy trying out flybarless.

Re: 3GX Questions

What are you running it in and the type of servos will decide how much power you need from a BEC. I haven't used a Align BEC so maybe someone else knows how they perform. I run a separate battery on one of my 600s and added a BEC and battery to my second one for a regulated 6v 20amp peak.

If its on a 450 you should be good.

Re: 3GX Questions

This is great. Lots of good info. I ordered a bec for the 3gx. was wondering if the stock align one in the speed control can supply enough voltage or should I wait for new one.

Re: 3GX Questions

All the +/- pins on the 3GX are shared (except the data pin); the only thing as I mentioned is that you have to be sure that the 2 BEC's connected have the SAME output V'tage. If the BEC doesnt have reverse polarity protection you can always throw a Diode in on each output lead from the BEC's... that way you'll protect each BEC and gain the benifits from dual power redundancy (same concept as hooking up two batteries in parallel)

Re: 3GX Questions

That was a great idea Heiko. I powered up the 3GX and removed the BEC lead from the BATT port and the 3GX stays powered up. Concluding the 3GX takes power from any unused port if a BEC lead is applied.
