Re: EME 55 with built in starter system Paul, I'm glad that worked. Everytime I suggest "open up the gap" I get more flack than it is worth. So I have dropped it from my recommendations. Yet still try it on my engines as I tune them. As not all set-ups are "Just do this". Add fuel/oil to the conversation. All part of set-up/tuning. -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3 |

Re: EME 55 with built in starter system Well I re-gapped the plug to .030 on both my EME55 and DLE20 and what a difference! the 'miss' I had on the 55 is gone and the rpm seems more solid across the throttle range. I did not have my tach handy but idle seemed to be better. The same comments apply to the 20 as well. If it ever stops blowing and raining at the same time I may even get to the field to try it out. |

Re: EME 55 with built in starter system hi Ed, I set my timing to about 30 deg static and this fires the plug at TDC on start-up. see post 3 for a bit more explanation. Basically if you loosen the two screws holding the sensor and push it over as far as it will go then that will give you about 30 deg static. just make sure you push in the retarding direction...lol Seemed to make starting easier and no effect on top end |

Re: EME 55 with built in starter system Quote:
Years ago one of our club members had rigged a starter on a Quadra 35 that he had in a 1/4 scale Cub. He used to do that trick of Contact and off it started. I could see that being really handy for a float plane. start it on land and warm it up then shut down and take it to the water. yell contact and fire it up! Once I get the gear in I will report on how well it works and what if any special starting procedure you need. |

Re: EME 55 with built in starter system I picture it as the perfect Float plane set-up. Talk about forethought. -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3 |

Re: EME 55 with built in starter system How is the electric start working out?? Would be fun to roll a 1/5th size warbird to the line, yell "contact" and watch it fire up LOL |

Re: EME 55 with built in starter system Truth be known, I'm at .028.Worked my way up. But I could only imagine how that advice would have been received by the "Masses". -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3 |
