Thank you very much. That worked I just reversed the power supply plug into the receiver. The instructions make no mention of this.
Just one more minor question. I have everything set up and adjusted but one of my servos makes a hich pitch sound intermitently.I think it is the one that controls the ailerons, because when I adjust one of the ailerons the noise goes away. Any thoughts on this ??

Re: Binding
Do you have the manual for the radio? If not go to horizon hobby web site and go to the radio control area and click on aircraft radios, click on the 6xi radio, first one in the second row, go to support, scroll down to the manual section and follow the directions on page 7.
If all else fails go to the club and ask for help, they should give it to you even if you're not a member yet or go back to your local hobby shop for help.
1. insert bind plug in the bind slot of the rx
2. power the rx (lights will flash)
3. hold trainer switch and then turn on tx
4. after a few seconds lights will go solid on rx
5. only after lights turn solid, let go of trainer switch
6. turn off rx and then the tx
7. remove bind plug
8. done
One last item, make sure the throttle stick is in the lowest position as well as the trim tab

I would strongly recommend you do some looking around your area for a MAAC sanctioned club. As mentioned many times before it pays off in safety and general hobby satisfaction having someone with experience look over your craft, answer any questions you may have and teach you what you need to know each step of the way.

Oh and by the way first time to this hobby.

But if you do feel that your garage lights might be causing a problem, then just take the plane outside and try again.
PS- you are getting the "fast" flashing when you plug in your battery (with bind plug installed) in your receiver before you try binding the Transmitter, right?

The lights are solid red and an orange light none are flashing

Turn off the rx and tx, remove bind plug then turn on tx then rx and system should work. Always when flying turn tx on first then rx, when turning off it is rx first then tx.

I have done this followed the instructions to the letter. What do you mean by "tx" and "rx" ??
