Alan, did you manage to fly the A10?

And whose 346 was that? Sweet lookin scale jet.

I see the grass was mowed at the side of the runway. Did you reverse the flight line as well to face North?

Cheers,

The 346 is Khan's it is pretty sparkly. No I didn't fly the A-10, didn't have a whole lot of time, but considered it a big success when the engines were run and I could at least get a chance to taxi it around a bit. A few more hours of programing the Royal SRS should have it
Yes we were facing the north side and it was a lot more enjoyable out of the sun.
We did have a good time.

Re: Cayley Jets 2013

Alan, a huge thank you for all the work and organizing you put in to make this event happen....and kudos to all your volunteers for making all of us feel more than welcome at this great event. ...and of course an equally huge thank you to Alex and Liz for letting us be there.

A fabulous event! Lots of flying, lots of socializing, more flying, food, water (very important!), more flying, more food and just an all round great group of people to hang out with for a few days......

Lots of good, interesting jets there. A big surprise was the most popular jet in terms of numbers being the Skymaster F-22 with a total of four there! followed closely by the CARF Tutor with 3 examples.

I would also like to thank Alan and company for a great event. This was my first time as a participant at such an event. Met some great pilots and their wives, put some faces to names......generally had a great time! The facility was 1st rate thank you Alex and Liz for your hospitality and letting us play on your beautiful property. Hope to get up and visit you folks from Edmonton at your Tofield event!
Thanks again to everybody

Re: Cayley Jets 2013

Well finally made it back from the last trip from Cayley for this year's addition of Jets Over Cayley 2013. We had an amazing four days of flying, where we had a little bit of weather and a whole lot of flying in glorious Alberta sunshine.
First I would like to thank all of the fellows and their families for attending our event. It is not a rally until you people show up and bring your great looking jets for us to see and experience. Thank for dedicating your weekend to us and we sure enjoyed having you. For those of you that couldn't make it, we missed you and hope when we have our next event you will be able to make it out.
Next I would like to thank my volunteers for helping out, first my wife Jean, thank you dear for giving me your support and patience at this time. Thanks to David for taking the chore of getting our ramp and start up area built and ready. David helped do the cooking of the Brats on the BBQ and also his support for the Saturday night potluck. David was also a good fill in helper in anything else I could have asked. Thanks buddy couldn't have done it without you.
Next thanks Bernie with field setup and selling tickets. Too bad you couldn't be there for your Saturday night steak.
Thanks Dale for doing a great job on sponsorship recruitment and the signs we needed to get our pilots to the rally.
To all others that helped chip in a big thank you.
Of course a huge thank you goes to Alex and Elizabeth Bahlsen. The owners of the AJ Flying Ranch. They are so generous allowing us to have Jets Over Cayley at their tremendous facility. They loan me equipment, their time, their patience, and complete access to their property. Thank you oh so much and thank you for the confidence and trust in our jet community to treat your airport as if it were our own.
Thanks to my cousin Norman King, for cooking our steaks at the Saturday Night BBQ. They were great and he also put in the extra dedication, as he suffered heat stroke three days before the event and probably should have been at the rally.
Thanks Aaron for coming and taking video and shots of our event. They looked great 3 years ago and I am looking forward to what you just shot.
David thank for your photos you took and I will try to get them uploaded as soon as I can.
Lastly I would like to Thank all of our sponsors for their donations, Altecare, KingTech, Jetcat USA, Global Jet Club, BVM with local Sponsorship from Modelland, PM Hobby Craft, Action Hobby, Innovative Wings, Ignition Graphixs, Johsonville Meat Products.
So the 2013 Jets Over Cayley goes down in the books as a great success and it could only have been that way with great people who came, helped and had a great time. We hope to see you all again at the next rally down the road and when the next Jets Over Cayley returns.

Bye for now.

Alan
