Re: New Parkzone Habu

I know there are guys who fly off of grass with wheels as long as the grass is cut nice and short, personally though, if flying off of grass, just hand launch it, it launches so easily and looks so much better without wheels on it.
As for how does the fan and motor hold up, well, I've got over 100 flights on my original one without any problems, I haven't heard of any issues with the fan and motor from anyone else. It's been pretty bullet proof.

Hi can you fly that off a grass field with wheels or is it a waste of time? Also how does the fan and motor hold up?

Re: New Parkzone Habu

I didn't do anything special, to be honest, I really didn't do anything at all, I peeled the old stickers off, and then I painted it.
I used automotive basecoat/clearcoat. PPG DBC base coat and Omni MC260 clear. I was afraid of melting the foam with a solvent based paint so I lightly dusted the first few coats on the airplane so that it would dry almost instantly, once it was sealed with those dusted coats I was able to put wet coats on. Just one coat of clear so it stayed light.

If you try painting one with solvent based paints, just remember you do so at your own risk, it's still just foam, I don't promise you won't have problems doing it that way, I took a chance and it worked
