Re: Pilot R/C Extra330 Rebuild

Thanks Guys! It came together very well, thanks to Tony at Pilot!!

Dave... I couldn't agree more - batts are not the place to skimp!

Jim... Don't worry - the iGyro is in just for testing for the F18. I will still bug you about NSSA Mixes, LOL!

We did weigh it with a digital fish scale... 29lbs 11oz but that had 5/8 tank of fuel so about 28.5lbs dry

Trevor,
Alittle late to the party on this thread. Good thing to know about your HK. Battery experience. Although yes this your interpretation but an opinion a lot of us listen to, trust and value. In the beginning of January I will be putting together a 50cc Ultimate with all the bells and whistles. I hope to try out the jeti switches and thunder power or green LIFE battery for power.(MACHZ, what do you think.... TAWISSSTTTT) To save a few buck this is no a wise way to save a buck when you look at the over all cost to the build. Keep testing and trying out and pass your knowledge to the masses.

That's right because they made the GP backwards, cylinder configuration wise, to the ZDZ, the GP leaft cylinder sits more forward, correct?

I got out this week with a few of the guys and got 3 flights on the plane. Flies like a dream again. No strange mixes or issues!!

Post inspection last night shows everything is perfect. Next will be to start playing with that iGyro to see what it can do before it goes in my F18.

All in all, a successful rebuild A HUGE to Tony at Pilot RC for such an awesome program to provide the wood for a rebuild. Definitely a differentiator amoungst the other ARFs.

Nice Trev! Honestly thought that plane was a goner after I had seen the pics. Pretty hard to tell it even had an incident.

Redundancy! Two Rx batteries with two switches. Check the switches individually (like the mags on a full scale) before the first flight each day. IMHO you don't need expensive electronic switches - just buy good quality HD switches (no HK crap!)
